Chris Benoit impressed fans and peers alike with his incredible in-ring work. Benoit put on great matches against the likes of Kurt Angle, Chris Jericho, Triple H, and others. Unfortunately, his legacy got tainted after the gruesome double murder suicide in 2007.

WWE removed all mentions of Chris Benoit from their platforms in the wake of the tragedy. Vince McMahon banned company employees from namedropping the Rabid Wolverine. Tonight, Benoit made a cameo during WWE’s Tribute to the Troops advert.

WWE aired a vignette for the upcoming Tribute to the Troops TV special during Raw this week. John Cena narrated the video package, which briefly showed Benoit as part of the first-ever Tribute to the Troops in 2003.

Eagle-eyed fans spotted Benoit and took to Twitter to share their two cents on WWE showing a shot of the former World Heavyweight Champion on live television.
