It’s Friday night once again and that means a brand new episode of WWE SmackDown and Ringside News has you covered with live play-by-play results coverage.

Start time for WWE SmackDown is at 8:00 PM EST. Match-by-match highlights and results from the show will take place on this very page. Feel free to leave any reactions in the comment section below.

Tonight’s SmackDown will see Daniel Bryan and Roman Reigns sign the contract for their upcoming match at Fastlane. Last week Bryan booked his place in the match by beating Jey Uso in a steel cage. It’s hard to imagine the tribal chief will let tonight fly past without trying to deabilitate Bryan, so let us know what you think might go down!

Big E returns to the blue brand for the first time since Apollo Crews’ attack. Big E will likely want revenge but Crews is a different man than the last time they met. Elsewhere tonight, Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair will be on the Kevin Owens Show, and we can expect the continued feuding of Seth Rollins and Cesaro, and the new team of Sami Zayn and Baron Corbin.

SmackDown

This week’s SmackDown opens with a look back at last week’s main event with Daniel Bryan and Jey Uso in a steel cage. We go live to the ThunderDome and out comes the Rated-R Superstar, Edge.

Edge says there a few things he needs to address. Roman Reigns said a man like Edge shouldn’t face a man like him but he found that amusing. He picked-up on something that most wouldn’t because him and Heyman are great spin doctors; a few weeks ago Roman told him to acknowledge him as the main event of WrestleMania and so he did, he chose Roman. Then Roman make a U-turn and got played by Daniel Bryan. Speaking of whom, he came out last week and said he deserves to be in the main event of WrestleMania more than him because he loves wrestling. And because he wrestled more than him.

Edge says it’s time he remind everyone who he is; when Bryan was wrestling once a week on the indies, he was in WWE wrestling 5-7 times a week with guys like The Rock, Undertaker, Mick Foley, Terry Funk, Eddie Guerrero, and more. And now he’s back because he loves it. Bryan can’t use love as a reason why he should be in the main event. So now he has to just wait until Fastlane to see who he’s facing at WrestleMania. Edge makes to continue but Daniel Bryan makes his way to the ring.

Bryan says it’s clear Edge has also been sucked in. He got sucked in by him and that wasn’t even his intention. He says he thought Edge would be impressed that he went into business for himself for once. Bryan sets the record straight and says he has an infinite amount of respect for Edge, for the people he’s wrestled, the miles he’s travelled, and how hard he fought to get back here. But allow him to be honest, this has nothing to do with Edge. Bryan says he watched Edge point at that WrestleMania sign and he got demoralised but it wasn’t because of Edge, he was angry at himself. So he went into business for himself and took one last shot in case this is his last WrestleMania.

Bryan says he has to beat Roman Reigns at Fastlane and he has to go to the main event of WrestleMania. Edge says he wants to make himself clear: Roman already beat Bryan. Yeah it was sketchy but a win is a win. He won the Royal Rumble, outlast 29 other guys, and Bryan was one of them. Edge says he has respect for Bryan too, he likes him, he’s better than this… but he’s not better than he is. Edge leaves Bryan in the ring.

The Street Profits comes to the ring alongside Rey and Dominik Mysterio for an 8-man tag team match but they attacked by Otis and Chad Gable on the ramp. Roode and Ziggler come down and pose with Gable and Otis in the ring.

Ford gets forced to the corner and isolated. Rey Mysterio eventually gets the tag and comes in against Gable with a springboard headbutt and a tilt-a-whirl DDT for a near-fall. Dominik comes in but Otis catches him. Rey drops Otis and looks for a 619 on Gable but Roode rushes in a drops him. Everything breaks down and everyone hits big moves until the Mysterio’s hit Roode with a double 619, then Dominik dives onto Gable at ringside, Rey tags out and dives onto Otis, then Montez hits From The Heavens for the win.

Winners: Street Profits, Dominik, & Rey Mysterio

Jey Uso is walking backstage and comes to Roman’s office but Heyman is standing outside. Heyman blocks his way and says Friday’s are pressure-filled for Roman and he isn’t happy about Jey tapping out. Jey says he has some business anyway but he’ll circle back around.

Kayla Braxton interviews Seth Rollins backstage and asks him about Cesaro. Rollins isn’t happy and asks why we keep talking about Cesaro. He says he tried to help Cesaro, someone with all the potential in the world, but never been a leading man. He tried and in return he got embarrassed and disrespected. He’s done with him. Braxton informs Cesaro will be facing Murphy tonight and he says “interesting”.

We get a lenghty replay of the recent happenings with Sasha Banks, Carmella, and Reginald. Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax takes Reginald to a fancy clothes store and Jax tells him he can have whatever he wants, it’s on her. We get a fashion montage of Reggie trying on outfits. Seth continues to kick and punch Cesaro and takes him out with The Stomp. Seth yells at Ceasro and waits for him to get up and hits another Stomp. Rollins grabs a chair and puts Cesaro’s head inside it, then looks for another Stomp but referees and officials run down and stop him. Rollins walks backstage and Nakamura stares him down.

Kevin Owens his walking backstage with cards for his talk show but Sami Zayn stops him. Zayn says, considering their history, he wants Owens to be a part of his documentary. Owens says he’s busy but Zayn stops him and says he should want to be a part of this because it’s going to be huge and Owens says he’ll think about it.

*Commercial Break*

Edge stops Jey Uso backstage and says he wants to talk to him man-to-man, not like a second-class citizen. Edge asks him what he’s doing? Edge says in 2015, when he was still mourning wrestling, he watched the Uso’s and The Wyatt’s and it made him realise he could love it again. Edge asks Jey why he’s walking around with slumped shoulders and with his head down. Jey tells Edge he doesn’t know him, so he should go home and be with his family because at WrestleMania Roman is going to maim him. Edge says he tried.

It’s time for The Kevin Owens Show. Owens says it’s great to be back but the last few months were rough for him. Physically and mentally it was a rollercoaster but he will keep fighting until he has nothing left. Regardless, tonight isn’t about him. Tonight is about his guests: Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair. Both women come to the ring and Owens says he can only think of two other people who faced each other at WrestleMania while being Tag Champions were John Cena and Shawn Michaels, so they could be stepping into some pretty big shoes.

Owens says they’re fighting for the Tag Titles at Fastlane but they’ve already lost to Baszler and Nia Jax, however he wants to know if there’s tension between them and lays out why there might be. Banks says she’s smoking hot and that’s why Reggie has been sniffing around her and Belair says that’s an issue, she let Reginald hang around her. Banks talks about how great she is and Bianca tells her she’s not the one who won the Royal Rumble match. Banks says if she had been in the match she would have won it. Banks says she will single-handedly beat Shayna and Nia and become two belts Banks again. They start to bicker but out come Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler to ringside.

*Commercial Break*

Reginald stands up and gets Sasha’s attention but Banks gets back in the ring and Natalya knocks her down. Reginald walks across the announce table. Tamina is tagged in and she stomps on Sasha in the corner.

Natalya is tagged back in and lands a snap suplex to Sasha for a two-count. Natalya applies a headlock but a jawbreaker gets Sasha free and Bianca is tagged in. A dropkick takes Natalya down, then Belair hits a spinebuster. Belair goes for the cover but Reginald gets on the ring apron and distracts the referee. Natalya connects with a discus clothesline to a distracted Belair. Reginald gets on the table again so Banks chases him. Sasha gets back in the ring as Natalya knocks her down. Tamina rolls Bianca up and gets the pin.

Winners: Tamina and Natalya

After the amtch, Banks and Belair argue with each other and Bianca storms off. Banks stares at Baszler, Jax and Reginald before leaving.

We see a replay of Big E getting injured a few weeks ago at the hands of Apollo Crews. Big E will make his return after the break.

*Commercial Break*

The Intercontinental Champion, Big E comes to the ring. E says, as he was laid up in a medical facility because of Apollo and the steel steps, he had a lot of time to think. He hopes Apollo knows what he did because he crossed the line, he opened Pandora’s box. There’s no coming back, no saying sorry. He can’t put the genie back in the bottle. He made Big E go biblical and he’s going Old Testament. It’s eye-for-an-eye. Apollo tried to hurt him and he’s here to maim him. Apollo stepped on his lawn and he’s gonna bulldoze his house. Pinning him won’t be enough, he’s gotta end him. He gets to end him. Big E says Apollo wants what’s his and that’s fine, because he’s finally ready to give him what he deserves. And they don’t to wait, they can go right now. Apollo doesn’t answer the all and Big E says that’s what he expected. Big E offers an open challenge and Baron Corbin answers the call.

Corbin comes out wearing a suit and tells Big E to calm down. He says he isn’t dressed to fight but he’ll tear it up. Sami Zayn runs out and says he accepts the challenge. Corbin grabs him and says he’s accepting it but Zayn says he got to it first. This will be the perfect ending to his documentary. They bicker and Big E says whoever gets in the ring first, they get the match. Zayn sprints to the ring and starts laughing but Big E attacks him and hits a belly-to-belly and Zayn rolls out.

Winner: Big E

After the match Big E is fired-up. Apollo Crews’ music hits and Big E is looking all over for him. Apollo rushes in from behind and attacks Big E. Apollo hits an Angle Slam, then another before shouting at Big E. Crews goes out and gets the steel steps and hits Big E with them. Big E rolls from the ring and Apollo poses on top of the steps.

Nia Jax is backstage with Reginald and he tells her she should be thinking bigger, that she could walk into WrestleMania with two belts if she challenges Banks. Jax loves the idea.

*Commercial Break*

Roman Reigns, Paul Heyman, and Jey Uso come to the ring to sign the contract for the Fastlane match against Daniel Bryan. Adam Pearce is already there and out comes Bryan as well. Pearce says he understands the contract has been read and agreed to, so everyone can sign and walk away. Roman stares at him and Pearce moves around to offer Roman his chair. Reigns smiles at Bryan and says “you don’t want this.”

Roman says he agreed to the match weeks ago but this week he’s not feeling it. So he refuses to sign the contract and Bryan doesn’t deserve it. Bryan says he’s excited, so he’ll sign the contract. He then says he never thought the head of the table would be afraid someone so insignificant. Oh, but maybe that changed last week because for years everyone thought he was better than Roman, but last week he proved it by making Jey Uso quit. Bryan mocks Roman and says maybe he should be the head of the table and the ruler of the island. The Samoans would love him. Roman gets angry and signs the contract.

Roman hands the contract to Jey, who hands it to Pearce. Bryan says he’s going to make Roman tap out, just the way he made Jey tap out. Uso lifts and throws the table out of the ring. Jey shouts that he’s had enough of the disrespect and he thinks this match needs a special guest enforcer, and it should be him. Edge comes out and says he loves that idea. How about next week he has his first SmackDown match in eleven years against Jey, and the winner becomes special enforcer at Fastlane. Adam Pearce books it and Edge rushes down to the ring and beats on Roman. Bryan knocks Jey out of the ring, then attacks Roman but Edge shoves him away. Edge knocks Roman from the ring and Bryan takes-out Edge with a flying knee!

That’s it for this week’s WWE SmackDown. Let us know what you thought of the show and if you’re excited for Fastlane. We’ll see you back here tomorrow for all your wrestling news. Until then, stay safe!
