Tonight WWE will hold it's first-ever WWE Battleground pay-per-view event. Posted below are my quick predictions for tonight's event.
WWE Title Match
Daniel Bryan vs. Randy Orton
This match here is probably one of the most anticipated matches on the card. Orton's feud with Bryan has been one of the main focus points of WWE programming on both Raw and Smackdown. I don't expect the feud between these two to end soon, so Orton will pick up the win here, however the finish of the match won't be clean. Possibly Brie Bella gets involved.
Battleground Hardcore Rules Match for the World Heavyweight Title
Rob Van Dam vs. Alberto Del Rio
Van Dam's contract with the company has been rumored to expire, and this might be the last we see of him for sometime. If those rumors are true, expect RVD to leave tonight without the World Heavyweight Championship. Ricardo playing a swerve in this match is also a possibility as he needs something else to do for the company if in fact RVD is taking time off. Possible a screw job ending here?
Another possibility is RVD pinning ADR, and then Sandow cashing in and after a post-match beat down? Either way, like stated earlier RVD will not be leaving champion.
WWE Divas Title Match
Brie Bella vs. AJ Lee
This bout here its a tough one to call. Total Divas is being filmed, and what better way to have their hit reality show focus around Brie Bella capturing the gold? Anyways, my prediction here is that somehow Brie Bella one up's AJ and we see a new Divas Champion.
WWE Intercontinental Title Match
R-Truth vs. Curtis Axel
Not really sure where they are going here with this match. The company hasn't really done anything with R-Truth for years and Curtis Axel has grown stale as a champion. If they plan on having an on-going feud between these two, R-Truth picking up the win would solidify a feud, setting up a rematch at the next pay-per-view.
Goldust and Cody Rhodes with Dusty Rhodes vs. Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns
If Goldust and Cody win, they get jobs. If they lose, they can never work for WWE again and Dusty Rhodes will lose his developmental job.
Another one of the most anticipated matches on card. WWE has done a good job putting together this match and making it have meaning. Because the titles aren't on the line, and Cody is due back to in-ring action, I predict that the Rhodes family will get the victory here.
Ryback vs. CM Punk
Hopefully this is the last we see of the Paul Heyman vs. CM Punk feud. My prediction, Punk defeats Ryback.
Bray Wyatt vs. Kofi Kingston
Bray Wyatt will most likely get the victory here. Not sure how far along the filming for Kane's upcoming movie is, but maybe we will see the "Big Red Machine" make his return?
Kickoff Pre-show Match
Dolph Ziggler vs. Damien Sandow
On paper this match looks decent, but really has no meaning behind it. Not sure if it matters who wins this one. Both men have been losing a majority of their matches for the better part of this year. If WWE plans on having Sandow cash in anytime soon and be a relevant champion, he will need to get some wins under his belt.
Well that's it for my incite on tonight's pay-per-view event. Leave your comments and feedback below.
