Did John Cena Need To Win The Rumble?
by Bobby Quinn
As we all saw last night John Cena was able to win the 30 man Royal Rumble, I can honestly say I would of been more shocked at this point if they had somebody else win. The real question is did John Cena need to win The Royal Rumble? The short answerer to that is no. Why would you have John Cena win The Royal Rumble? It does not benefit him at this point in any way, shape or form. He's won The Rumble, he's main evented WrestleMania's and now when his career is at it's most stale he wins The Rumble again preventing someone truly deserving to win and give a push to their career.
In my mind what happened last night was wandering into WCW "who booked this crap" territory. I really wanted to see Dolph Ziggler pull a Shawn Michaels and last until the end and win. If it wasn't Ziggler it should of been Ryback. It could of been Heath Slater, I'm serious, anyone but John Cena. I know why they had Cena win the Rumble, everybody does, it was so we could set up for a very original face vs face part two match of John Cena vs The Rock at WrestleMania.
To be fair to the WWE, the whole Rumble was pretty damn good up until the horribly boring conclusion. I always love watching the rumble and watching old guys return. Chris Jericho returning was a legitimate shock I'm surprised they where able to keep his return a secret. I'm pretty sure Goldust has broken the record for the most Royal Rumble returns too. Yes it was all good until John Cena won again, does the WWE realize what originality is anymore? Or for that matter what shocking is? I mean shocking in a good way not shocking in a I can't believe they did this again way.
So now we have John Cena and The Rock setup for a rematch at WrestleMania in the most unoriginal way you could imagine. Of course we had "The Shield" ruin another match, something else reeking of originality. They should of had Brock Lesnar come out and try and cost The Rock the match. Wow that already sounds more exciting, see how easy that is WWE? Anyways, the show was pretty good the WWE just continues to baffle me about certain things. Post comments good or bad!

Good business. Kappa.
It isn't that good, especially if it takes The Rock to have to come back and get the ratings as high as they are; it is starting to show that WWE is in a whole lot ...
But like I said, after Punk's lengthy reign as champ, I think WWE need to do that more often instead of passing the title around like a hot potato (which they will from ...
