WWE Royal Rumble 2013 Predictions
Pre Show Match:
United States Championship
(C) Antonio Cesaro Vs The Miz
Antonio Cesaro is a special talent, he will be a main event star in years to come and this United States Championship run has really established him as a believable character in the WWE. Now next in line for the United States Championship is The Miz. This hasn’t been built up too much excluding a cool bit on Miz TV with Ric Flair but really hasn’t been the greatest feud of all time. That is why I expected this match to be a good way to start the show but I think Cesaro will come out on top.
Tag Team Championship
(C) Team Hell No Vs Team Rhode Scholars
This feud has been really interesting... I would’ve thought Team Rhode Scholars would’ve been giving the straps by now but WWE has really stuck by Kane and Daniel Bryan which hasn’t been all bad but I guess it is getting a bit old and warn out now. Don’t get me wrong Team Hell No have been great but I really want to see Daniel Bryan on his own and back into the main event scene. Plus I would love to see Team Rhode Scholars with the straps. I expect this match to be another good one but I predict Team Rhode Scholars to get the win and become the new Tag Team Champions.
Team Rhode Scholars
World Heavyweight Championship
Last Man Standing Match
(C) Alberto Del Rio Vs Big Show
I thought it was a surprise to see Alberto Del Rio win the World Title against The Big Show in the first place. You can see what WWE are trying to do with him and to an extent I think it’s working but really all I see this title reign being is just a transitional one until the path is laid for Dolph Ziggler to swoop in and finally cash In his MITB contract. Might even happen after this match... Winner and retaining for the time being Alberrrrrrrrrrrrrrrto Del Riooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.
Alberto Del Rio
(C) CM Punk Vs The Rock
Please, Please, Please!! CM Punk has to win and retain his title at the Royal Rumble. Everything about The Rock winning this match and the title is wrong just wrong! The Rock does not deserve it; he has not earned it and quite frankly doesn’t need it to be a big draw for WWE. CM Punk has held the title for 430 days which is an amazing achievement in this era of wrestling and there is no reason to drop it to a glorified Hollywood wrestler. I expected Punk to retain but with interference, to my knowledge I don’t think this is a no disqualification match so if punk gets disqualified or a clean win I think he retains here. Brad Maddox as a referee? Stone Cold? Undertaker? Possibilities are endless but when it is all said and done... CM Punk is still your reigning, defending WWE Champion.
30 Man Royal Rumble Match
Every year we say this could be the greatest Royal Rumble of all time... but really I think this year has the potential to be the best yet. Dolph Ziggler is forced to start the match at either 1 or 2 with the other participant I’m predicting the second entrant being Big E Langston. With Big E helping Ziggler throughout the Rumble right until the end. I expecting a few different starts from the distant past and not so distant past such as John Morrison, MVP, Shelton Benjamin, Taker, Stone Cold maybe? Well I guess we will find out but it is always fun to speculate. I feel the winner of the match will come out of left field not with the obvious choice... My main choices are between Randy Orton, Sheamus, Wade Barrett, Dolph Ziggler and Daniel Bryan. I’m hoping one of the Shield members gets a good rub too. I really think this Royal Rumble could be great if done properly so let’s hope WWE can pull through on this one.
My Final 4 Predictions are:
Big E Langston/Roman Reigns
This PPV could really be a great start at one of the best Royal Rumbles of all time, it’s a question if WWE can pull through and deliver with this one. The matches on the card are intriguing and appealing to the casual fan. The Royal Rumble is always my favourite match and I just can’t wait for the unpredictability of this year’s match.
