I am pretty sure that you are all aware of the happenings of iMPACT Wrestling last week, in which Aces & Eights invaded the Bully Ray-Brooke Hogan Wedding. This attack begun when Taz showed his true colors as a member of Aces & Eights by taking off his jacket to reveal an Aces & Eights vest.
After this huge swerve and one of the most shocking moments in recent memory, we were all waiting in anticipation for the next edition of iMPACT Wrestling to find out why Taz did it. Taz stated that he had the opportunity to join “the machine that is Aces & Eights.” He did not want to miss out on this opportunity. After that, he proceeded to go to the announce table.
Now, onto the purpose of my blog. Did Taz do a good job on iMPACT? No. I really feel like he screwed up. My primary discrepancy was the fact that he maintained the same and/or very similar commentary style he had before he was apart of Aces & Eights. When he first came to the commentary table and snapped at Todd Keneley, I was hoping for a good commentary period with Taz, with him putting down Keneley and Tenay. Instead, he retained the same traits and the same, blandish commentary he has had since joining TNA. As for his promo, I can’t say the same. I thought his promo was very well done. He didn’t stutter a bit and he spoke clearly and concisely and really gave a good explanation. I was really hoping for more heel attitude from Taz, though. His overall performance felt weak.
I feel that Taz can really thrive in his position. I just feel that he needs to work on his heel persona a bit. I think he just needs to try to act more rude on commentary and disrespect Tenay and Keneley. I cannot wait to see what Taz brings to Aces & Eights in the future, especially when he judges Gutcheck.
