Hello fellow members of Ringside News. Here are my predictions for TNA’s first pay-per-view event of the year: Genesis.
Mickie James vs. ODB vs. Miss Tessmacher vs. Gail Kim vs. Velvet Sky
I have a feeling that this could be a potentially exciting Knockouts matchup. However, if it is that style of match where only two people can be in the ring at one time and they have to tag each other out, that would be awful. But, if it like the X Division Gauntlet at Victory Road in 2004, then we are in for a treat. Usually, battle royals featuring women are lackluster, but this could be good, considering it does feature some really good Knockouts. As for the victor, I am thinking that it will be Mickie James or Velvet Sky, but I am going with Velvet Sky.
Devon vs. Joseph Park
Welcome back Joseph Park. Those training segments were neat and pretty funny sometimes. I am a huge fan of Joseph Park, so I am glad to see him back in action against a member of Aces & Eights, Devon. This one is a bit hard to predict. On one hand, Devon is the TV Champion and has the experience edge. However, Joseph Park did just return. I feel this will either be a Devon victory due to Aces & Eights interference, a Joseph Park victory because of Aces & Eights interference, or a no contest.
Kenny King vs. Christian York
In the past month or so, we’ve been seeing a gradual heel turn of Kenny King. We’ve also been seeing a rivalry between King and RVD. So, I think this is the day we see Kenny King lockup with RVD for the X Division Title once again at Genesis. So, I predict Kenny King to win what should be a pretty good match, especially since Christian York is apart of it.
Winner of X Division Title Tourney (Kenny King) vs. RVD
Kenny King has been feuding with RVD for a month or two. I believe we have seen Kenny King face RVD twice for the X Division Championship and lose both times. In this case, I believe that the statement, “ Third time’s a charm,” applies here. I believe that Kenny King will become the new X Division Champion at Genesis. So, I predict Kenny King to become the new X Division Champion by defeating RVD.
Daniels vs. James Storm
This one is a bit tough to predict. I haven’t really been paying attention to anything going on with these two, so I don’t know who has momentum or anything. I have a slight feeling, however, that this match will be a James Storm victory, but I am really not sure. So, I will just go out on a limb and say James Storm.
D.O.C. vs. Sting
In wake of one of the worst returns of the millennium, we have a match between D.O.C. and “The Icon” Sting. We’ve been seeing Sting ride with momentum lately, returning and beating up Aces & Eights, along with defeating Mike Knox. With that said, I think that D.O.C. will take a win here, most likely from Aces & Eights interference. Usually whenever someone has lots of momentum going into a PPV, they lose at the PPV. So, I predict a D.O.C. victory.
Matt Morgan & Joey Ryan vs. Chavo Guerrero & Hernandez
Another tough match to predict. I really don’t have much to say on this match except that I have a slight feeling that Genesis will be the end of Chavo and Hernandez’s reign as tag team champions. So, I predict Matt Morgan and Joey Ryan to become the new TNA World Tag Team Champions (Of the World).
Bobby Roode vs. Austin Aries vs. Jeff Hardy
A HUGE match for the World Heavyweight Championship between “The It Factor,” “The Greatest Man That Ever Lived,” and “The Charismatic Enigma.” I feel that this match could be really good. Two of my favorite wrestlers today, Austin Aries and Bobby Roode, are featured in this matchup. I feel that this match will be an intense one featuring big moves and exciting moments. However, I feel that Jeff Hardy will retain his World Heavyweight Title in a good match by pinning Austin Aries.
There are my predictions for TNA’s Genesis pay-per-view. Thanks for reading them!
