Up or Down: Predicting Everyone's Direction Heading Into Next Week
Up or Down is where we rank everyone's momentum heading into the next week. Predictions are based on everyone's performance, momentum and storyline progression. Facts and stats are going to be used to formulate opinions.
Going Up: Dolph Ziggler & Big E Langston
On the Special Christmas Raw, the resident Show Off had a break from in-ring action and spent the night with his new girlfriend AJ Lee. Several days later, Dolph Ziggler faced The Miz on SmackDown and won with Big E Langston's distraction. Look for this new duo to go higher with the managerial services of AJ.
Turnaround: Illogical
Going Down: Alberto Del Rio
The failed lab experiment of WWE Creative, Alberto Del Rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrio! They just don't know what to do with this guy. He juggles from face to heel on a weekly basis. Only time he was on an actual highlight this week was when he got his butt whooped for bumping Santa Claus with his car. Expect him to plummet some more.
Turnaround: Unlikely
Going Up: Team Rhodes Scholars
They did lose against Team Hell No on Main Event, but they're still on a roll against other tag teams. Backstage higher-ups don't trust them with singles competitions yet. This is evident with their losses whenever they compete in one-on-one matches. Still, look for them to win these tag team matches as the next week unfolds.
Turnaround: Highly Unlikely
Going Down: The Miz
The Awesome One is the luckier version of Alberto Del Rio. He's actually sticking to his face turn and his Miz TV segment. Unfortunately, he was pit against the wrong opponent this Friday in Dolph Ziggler. Look for him to awkwardly pander to the crowd some more while getting his segment interrupted every now and then.
Turnaround: Possible
Going Up: John Cena
WWE's own Superman is back on track as predicted. He's kept his distance from Dolph Ziggler and co. while maintaining a steady momentum upwards. His win over Alberto Del Rio on Raw proved his turnaround. With both Cena and Ziggler going up, one of them has to fall. Look for the Cenation leader to confront his ex and her new man next week.
Turnaround: Illogical
Going Down: Big Show
As predicted, the World's Largest Athlete went back a couple of steps against Sheamus on Raw. He attempted to bounce back on SmackDown against Alberto Del Rio, but was ganged on by everyone and fed to the Great White. Look for the Big Show to attempt a turnaround next week.
Turnaround: Logical
Going Up: Sheamus
Thanks to a few Brogue Kicks here and there, the Celtic Warrior is on the rise for another shot at the World Heavyweight Championship. Look for Sheamus to try and continue this momentum heading into next week.
Turnaround: Logical
Going Down: Kofi Kingston
Getting pinned by your top challenger is never a good thing. This was the case for Kofi Kingston who was recently pinned by Wade Barrett on SmackDown. It was a tag team match, though. Look for Kofi Kingston to attempt a turnaround on Raw.
Turnaround: Plausible
Going Up: Team Hell No
Kane and Daniel Bryan were impressive in their win over the latest #1 contenders. On top of that, they've been stacking up on singles wins while maintaining a good chemistry backstage. The only way to go is up for Team Hell No until they hit bumpers with Team Rhodes Scholars again.
Turnaround: Unreasonable
Going Down: Tensai
What looked like a good year for Tensai is quickly ending with a plummet to obscurity. The best option for him right now is ask for a release, honestly.
Turnaround: Impossible
Also Going Up: Ryback, Antonio Cesaro, Wade Barrett, The Shield and The Great Khali
Also Going Down: CM Punk, Zack Ryder and 3MB
