Stone Cold VS The Rock Part 4???

Yes we all remember Stone Cold vs The Rock, part one, part two and oh yes, part three. At least at WrestleMania's that is, we know they've fought countless other times. As you've probably guessed this is going to be a "fun" column. Do I think Rock will ever fight Austin again at WrestleMania? Ugh, I doubt it. But when the thought entered my head I thought eh? Might be pretty cool.

When WrestleMania 19 had come around the "attitude era" was long in the dust and we had moved on to the Brock Lesnar era for awhile. To tell you the truth I don't have a lot of memories of The Rock meeting Austin at WrestleMania 19, but WrestleMania 17? Different story of course. Many people point to WrestleMania 17 as the height and unfortunate end of the "attitude era". I would be inclined to agree with that as after WrestleMania 17 we never quite got a big taste of the ol' "attitude era" again. Wrestling moves in cycles, it always has and always will. If wrestling didn't movie in cycles it would be dead, just ask WCW. Bashing WCW is just beating a dead horse at this point so I won't go in that territory.

But what if? What if..Stone Cold and The Rock squared off at WrestleMania 29? Do you think it could work? When I think of Stone Cold and Rock I think of Hogan and Savage. Hogan and Savage of course main evented WrestleMania 5 and some ten years later they where still feuding in WCW, and it was still entertaining. That was because they had chemistry. They knew what had to happen in the match to be successful, they new each other, they knew their moves, they knew how to be entertaining. I have to say my favorite Austin/Rock match was at WrestleMania 17, it was just epic in every sense of the word and it was a true match for the Hogan/Savage rivalry.

As I reiterated before, I don't expect this rematch to happen, I wouldn't bet a dollar on it. The WWE is in a spot where they have to look foward to the future of the company, and that is of course CM Punk. But like I said this is a "fun" column and when the thought entered my head it sounded pretty damn cool. How much would the ratings spike if these two started feuding for one last match? Would they spike at all? Would fans even care? I personally would be thrilled. I have to admit I would be enthralled, call me a sucker. When Vince pulled the plug on guys like Savage and Hogan in the early 90's I think he must of been dismayed when Eric Bischoff showed fans would still pay to see these guys wrestle in WCW. Would you pay to see this feud again in 2013? I know I would. Leave comments good or bad!! Thanks for reading!!
