The WWE Hall of Fame has always been somewhat controversial. I for one thought it was a joke when they put guys like Pete Rose and Drew Carrey in it, when you put those guys in it what does it say about the accomplishments of the other guys who truly earned it? Yes it is entertainment, but these guys where also putting their bodies on the line night after night and deserve to be respected. Anyways there are already a few speculations on who should be in the Hall of Fame for 2013 so I thought I'd go over who I wanted to be in and why.
Randy Savage- This one is kind of a no-brainer it's very sad to me how things ended for Savage and the WWE, Randy never got the proper sendoff he deserved from the company and he did so much for them. Vince McMahon would do business with anyone again even The Ultimate Warrior so it's baffling to a lot of wrestling fans including me why he seemed to dislike Savage so much. I was also very upset with the way they did Randy's DVD a few years back, it was very lackluster and hosted by - Maria? This one of the biggest legends of all time they should of been interviewing him and everyone who worked with him. I guess we'll never know but I hope WWE pays tribute to one of the all time greats this year.
Mick Foley - Word has been going around that Foley could be inducted next year, I think that would be a great idea at this stage in Foley's career. Foley is pretty much done wrestling for good and no one deserves a hall of fame spot more than the "hardcore legend." Mick Foley has a truly awesome story of being the guy who wasn't a body builder who made it to the top of wrestling with his own unique style, I would guess he would choose Terry Funk to induct him which would be awesome.
The Ultimate Warrior - Now here's an interesting one to say the least. The Ultimate Warrior and the WWE have had a rocky relationship in the past which is probably putting it mildly. I believe Vince McMahon hates the fact that Warrior has made it just fine on his own without the WWE. I like Vince McMahon he's given us endless hours of entertainment but lets face it, he loves to own his talent. I highly doubt this will end up happening, Warrior as said no time and time again and I don't see him changing his mind this year.
Bob Backlund - It's a head scratcher to me why this man isn't in the Hall of Fame. Backlund has always been a very good performer and before Hulk Hogan came in to the picture he had a lot to do with the history of the WWE. In the late 90's we saw Backlund reinvent himself as a nutjob stuck in the past, I loved that angle it was one the more entertaining things the WWE had done in the mid 90's. Bob Backlund rightfully deserves to be honored, or I should say Mr. Backlund.
Owen Hart - Owen Hart has been rumored to be inducted into the Hall of Fame next year but a lot of people are saying it's a long shot given the fact that Martha Hart wants nothing to do with the WWE. Owen Hart was a truly great technical wrestler and always good at playing the cowardly heel, he played it to perfection. He had classic matches with his brother Bret Hart that often received four star reviews - Owen Hart was a legend and deserves to be honored I hope WWE can make this happen.
Jake "The Snake" Roberts - You can call Jake Roberts a lot of things but you can't call him boring. Jake Roberts was one of the greatest performers to ever step foot into the ring period. Roberts showed how far in ring psychology can go without actually having to be a great athlete. We all know Jake has his problems, but who doesn't. Jake Roberts should be inducted into next years Hall of Fame without question. Word is Diamond Dallas Page is helping Jake gear up for one more comeback match, hopefully he can do it.
Well those are the names that came to my mind, I'm sure I missed some obvious ones but feel free to post who you think should be inducted! As always thanks for reading and leave comments good or bad!
