Dream WrestleMania 29 Card
by Bobby Quinn
With so much speculation over what matches will take place at the "grand daddy of em all" I decided to do a blog featuring the matches I would personally love to see. The WWE has a lot of options and a lot of cool places to go here so lets get started!
First starting with the under-card, I would really love to see "The One Man Band" Heath Slater on the card, possibly as an opening match. As the roster stands right now I would probably put Slater up against Kofi Kingston and have him win the Intercontinental championship fair in square. Like I've said before I see big things for Slater in the future and this could be a big jump start to his career.
Next we'll go over to Daniel Bryan. I'm sorry I think the angle he's involved with now is funny but he's capable of so much more than funny. This man is great on the mic, why does the WWE feel the need to put guys good on the microphone into comedy angles? Anyways I guess at this point it would make most sense to put Bryan vs Kane at Mania. Of course they would have to take the storyline into more serious territory. Even though I don't like what they're doing now I think Kane would be a great opponent for Bryan and could get him over, Kane is a veteran and it could do nothing but good for Bryan's career at this point.
Up next Dolph Ziggler. I like Dolph, I'm always hugely impressed with the guy - he's got the goods and I see big things happening for him at Mania. Did anyone see his match with Orton on Smackdown this past week? Great stuff. Anyway we all know Ziggler has the money in the bank contract that he can cash in for a world title shot at any time. Mania is definitely ringing a bell here, I don't think Ziggler will go in with the world title or even be put in a world title match. It will be his time to shine and I believe WWE will give Ziggler the Mania moment he deserves.
I've expressed repeatedly that I really love Sheamus and I think he has world champion written all over him, I'm glad WWE gave him the world belt for a long time but truth be told I think the belt should of remained around his waist up until Mania. Anyhow, I think Sheamus deserves a big match on this card. For me, Sheamus vs The Undertaker is the dream match, will it happen? I dobut it. You see the only problem is "the streak". The WWE won't end the streak and it would make Sheamus look like loser at this point in his career to lose against Taker. Could we see Sheamus come in and be the first guy to beat Takers streak? Hey I can dream can't I? OK because that scenario doesn't sound likely I would definitely love to see the belt back around Sheamus's waist and have him defend it against Randy Orton at Mania.
At this point in time John Cena seems like a bit of a wild card to me at Mania. Where will he fit in? He's been pretty much lost on Raw these past few weeks, stuck in some lame angle I don't care to discuss. I guess it was probably time for a break from Cena as a main eventer, the sad thing is he's got all the goods I just wish the WWE would use them right. There is a lot of talk of a Cena/Rock rematch. Really? Snooze. I'm sorry I don't want to see that again, Cena isn't exactly Stone Cold here. I'm going to go ahead and say that Cena should fight Ryback. Yep Cena vs Ryback, I believe Ryback is big enough at this point to get a match against Cena and it would be cool to see these guys go head to head.
Brock vs The Undertaker - I guess this is the match I believe WWE will lean towards most come Mania time. I really have no problem with that at all as both these guys are phenomenal athletes for their size. Both men have the agility that guys like that just aren't suppose to have. The match has a nice build to it as the two had a stare-down at a UFC event Brock was fighting at, this would be a cool way for WWE to start the feud.
We have three big time players left - CM Punk, The Rock and Triple H. We know right now that most likely CM Punk will fight The Rock at Royal Rumble. That's cool with me, CM Punk vs The rock alone doesn't necessarily signify a WrestleMania main event. But throw Triple H into the mix? Hmm. Not a bad idea at all if you ask me. I would love to see the main event of WrestleMania 29 be CM Punk vs The Rock vs Triple H. It would be awesome to see all three of these guys wrestling in the same ring and I think CM Punk could come out shining like a star. Well those are my thoughts on the WrestleMania card, feel free to comment good or bad. Thanks for reading!
(I know I left out The Miz and a few others, sorry these are just the matches that came to my mind)
