Is It Time For Rock To Bow Down To Punk?
by Bobby Quinn
The WWE Universe has showed that they recognize CM Punk's phenomenal talent in the ring and that they do indeed have faith in the straight edged superstar. The WWE threw Punk the ball and he ran with it giving us a champion who wasn't a cartoon character. The WWE has kept the belt on CM Punk for a very long time at this point, they have pushed him even though technically he is a "smaller" guy. The WWE has only made one fumble and that's not putting him in the main events of PPV's which I've already gone over and over.
So where does Punk go from here? At this point I think Punk needs another adrenaline injection to his gimmick, what would the WWE do to make people go - wow Punk is still the man? If I'm a WWE writer than answerer is simple - have CM Punk beat The Rock fair in square right in the middle of the ring at a big PPV. The WWE made their fans stand up and take notice of Punk last summer and they did a great job of it, but something seems a tad off at this point, it's almost as if creative said well - that's it, he's a star, time to clock out for the day.
The current WWE creative team is nowhere near as good as it was during the WWE "Attitude Era", that's a fact plain and simple. Back in the late 90's we got a fantastic storyline, then a great storyline, than another fantastic one - that trend is missing in today's WWE where we're happy to see them do at least one thing outside of the box. I really hope this just doesn't end with Punk losing the belt and becoming another face on the roster, it would be a shame for someone who could do so much more if they where just given the chance.
So we would have CM Punk and The Rock going face to face in the middle of the ring. I personally believe that Punk is edgier and quicker on the microphone than John Cena, but admittedly a tad less charismatic. CM Punk going over cleanly on The Rock would definitely shake up the WWE Universe and put the main focus back where it belongs - on Punk. Why not repeat history? Why not have The Rock fight CM Punk in an "I quit" match and make Punk look heroic, make him never give up, make him look better than The Rock. Of course I'm thinking of the epic Steve Austin/Bret Hart match at Wrestlemania 13. This might seem a little far fetched to WWE creative but really, why should it? CM Punk is the guy wrestling house shows every night, he is now "the man", they should start treating him like it.
The WWE showed faith in the Chicago born star last year and it paid off. CM Punk ran with the ball when they threw it to him and took it right into the end zone. The WWE just needs to learn to throw the ball to him more often, he's got mega star written all over him and the WWE shouldn't back down now.

I would love more than anything to see a clean win over the Rock but I don't see the Rock's Hollywood star ego allowing him to push someone he no doubt thinks is below him. So I think it will be a dq win for the rock but no title. Cause in order for him to have the title that would mean he would h...

Wrestling yes, but mic skills? Hell no. If WWE wasn't PG, Rock would have murdered Cena and Punk on the mic. Punk is all talk. He's a shitty wrestler but he is better than rock. Rocks move set is horrible. I mean have you seen those punches? Lol

Punk is a much better wrestler than you are giving him credit for, and yes he is better than the Rock. You might want to watch some old RoH matches with Punk in them and then get back to me on that cause Punk is a very talented wrestler.

I don't need to do anything lol, I've seen punk in those days and I've seen him now. And my perception about him will never change, he's had one good promo an a few decent matches and all of a sudden he's "the man". Me and you obviously disagree, so let's not continue because my opinion about him WO...

The Rock isn't a game changing star as you want to make him out to be Domingo. Raw might get a small boost to the ratings but that doesn't really mean anything. If was there full time the ratings would go back to normal or they might even decrease. And the Rock needs to lose to someone and I woul...
