Dolph Ziggler and Ric Flair: A Natural Connection
by Bobby Quinn
We've seen Dolph Ziggler, we know his talents, we know his potential and we know it's only a matter of time before he becomes "the man". The question is - what can Ziggler do to elevate him to the next level? There's a lot of things younger guys can do, get a clean victory on guys with bigger names, cut historic promos, win titles and of course there's associating with legendary names.
Becoming a bigger name by association in the wrestling business is very common as we have all seen - when a wrestler joined the nWo in the late 90's he became a star. If you where in the ring with Hulk Hogan, you where a top guy. In 2003 Evolution brought Randy Orton and Batista to new heights, and we can't forget today's stars either. Dolph Ziggler reminds me a lot of Ric Flair, not just with his blonde slicked back hair but his unrelenting determination, it seems Ric Flair managing Dolph Ziggler is a match made in heaven. Ziggler is a star in the making waiting for his time to shine, he's already proven he's got the goods - there's just one last element he needs and I think Ric Flair could be that last proverbial piece of the puzzle.
There wouldn't be a better opportunity for Ric Flair to return to his WWE home then to manage a young up and comer like Ziggler. If anyone's good at helping younger guys it's Flair, and as we have all seen - it just seems like it's pretty hard for him to step out of the limelight. Not that that's an issue though, Flair will always have an on-screen presence that rivals over 90 percent of today s stars, he truly is and will always be - "the man". I truly believe that if Ric Flair got behind Dolph Ziggler he would be a made man, there's nothing better than getting the validation of a legend, and no one deserves that more than Ziggler.
I hope WWE dosen't miss the bus on this one as it's such a great combination - Ziggler and Flair = Gold. Ziggler having Flair next to him at every match, guiding him, helping him with promos and just being his right hand man would elevate Dolph to the place he so richly deserves to be - main event status. There's really no question that Flair will be back in the WWE soon, I doubt he will ever leave the wrestling business for good. To quote the Miz on this subject - Really? Really? He'll be back sooner than later and Ziggler is the man he needs to be aligned with! Well that's my rant - feel free to comment good or bad!
