Stone Cold vs Randy Orton or CM Punk?
by Shane Hooper
Lately, WWE has been trying to bring back past stars to improve ratings and the quality of the WWE in general. We’ve seen the likes of Brock Lesnar and The Rock wrestle this year. We’ve also seen other stars such as Road Warrior Animal, Diamond Dallas Page, Sycho Sid, Vader, Rowdy Roddy Piper, Lita, and Shawn Michaels return, leading up to, and on the 1000th episode of WWE Raw. But, one superstar has yet to come back. It’s been almost 16 months since we’ve seen Stone Cold Steve Austin on Raw. Perhaps the biggest star of his era and one of the biggest draws ever, WWE needs Stone Cold to have one last match. The biggest question is, who should he face? I believe it comes down to two superstars; Randy Orton or CM Punk.
Stone Cold vs Randy Orton is definitely a match I would love to see. I for one am a big Randy Orton fan. I do believe he is much better as a heel than babyface. We’ve all heard Orton, at times, been called “the next Stone Cold,” and there are some similarities between the two. The Viper vs. the Rattlesnake. Both men get cheered regardless if they are a good guy or bad guy because of how talented they are. Stone Cold was undoubtedly the biggest star of his era. Meanwhile, Orton has been and is, one of WWE’s top stars. Who else would love to see the Stunner vs the RKO?
Now, let’s get on to the match that has been rumored for Wrestlemania 29 or 30. Ever since CM Punk cut his shoot promo last summer, the wrestling universe has been talking about these two having a match. Just like Randy Orton, CM Punk has similarities to Stone Cold Steve Austin. Punk is the biggest rebel in the WWE. Being a rebel is what made Stone Cold a huge star in the attitude era. Last time Stone Cold was on Raw there was a confrontation backstage between the two. There have also been tweets from both guys aiming at the other. And, Stone Cold hasn’t been a shy about saying if he did return for one last match he would want it to be against CM Punk.
Both men, Randy Orton and CM Punk, are talented in the ring and on the mic. Punk is better at both, in my opinion, but Orton can definitely hold his own. When it comes down to it, I think I would be more interested in seeing a heel Randy Orton vs Stone Cold Steve Austin. What do you guys think? What match interests you more?

I do think both matches would be awesome to see and I do agree that stone cold and cm punk are very similar with they're persona but to me a heel orton has a closer wrestling style to Stone Cold than CM Punk does. Ortons mic skills when he's a heel are pretty good. Who are we kididng? Austin has eno...

Agreed. The best example for reference would be the Bret Hart vs. Stone Cold feud. Austin carried the buildup for SS '96 by himself. Watch the black & white vignettes on YouTube .

No matter whether Austin is fully fit or not.. Austin with 50percent fitness is too good for punk or Orton.. and why not a triple threat match.. PUNK vs AUSTIN vs ORTON..

Triple threat match would be an awesome way to go but I would rather see Austin/Punk over Austin/Orton. I think both matches would bring a lot of draw just because of Austin but the Austin/Punk match would bring draw due to both of them.

I don't know if it would draw due to both of them. If you remember a few months back, WWE was always main eventing John cena on raw and not the wwe champion. The reason they were main eventing cena instead of punk is that the ratings weren't high enough in segments with Punk. So the only way to main...

Austin-Rattle Snake, Orton-Viper, Punk-AnacondaVise.. So a snake name occurs in one way or other .. A triple threat match would decide which Snake is Dangerous than other..
