WWE Bringing Back Money in the Bank at WrestleMania?, More on Cena's RAW Promo

Posted on January 23, 2013 by
- We noted how John Cena's bad Royal Rumble promo from the end of Monday's RAW was a hot topic backstage. The feeling backstage was that Cena got lost in the middle of his promo and really didn't get his point across, whatever that point was.

- WWE officials continue to discuss Ryback vs. Big Show for WrestleMania 29. They are also talking about doing a Money in the Bank Ladder Match at WrestleMania with Ryback in it.

Not really a Cena fan, but his promos at least have consistency, passion and make sense most of the time. This was not one of those times. It did kinda seem like he was winging it with the crowd interaction and attempting to be funny, but it just didn't work and came off cringe worthy and extremely ...

Other than The Rock, John Cena is probably the best promo talker in the WWE right now and that's not saying much, yes his promo was shit but in saying that, when you look at it, give me one name (NOT Rock, Triple H, Vince McMahon) who is a far better talker than Cena, who currently works full time i...

Punk maybe the best ever on the mic. And yea Sandow is great miz is good ziggler is decent. I would even say Cesaro is better. Wade Barrett as well. Rich you're usually right on with your comments I think you might've missed it on this one. But hey it's your opinion.

Only reason why Cena is "good" on the mic, is because there's young boys, and girls in the crowd or at home, wearing his merchandise. When Cena speaks, he speaks about what everyone knows, and hears everyday... "Never give up". That's boring and useless.

You're out of your mind. Punk is the only superstar that would've worked well in the AE. maybe ryback just because of his size.

I don't think it's really fair to judge Cena on his promo skills as of right now. One, he's stuck in a hard place being the poster child for children, which doesn't allow him to rise to his full potential. He has to come up with grade school humor and be the overall good force in wrestling like Hoga...

Cena is the best on the mic period ! im not a fan of his at all but i that it's true. and people should stop hating on him. he's been in WWE for 10-11 years. Stone Cold lasted 7 years and The Rcok 5 years. Cena has given everything to WWE and we should respect him for that.

Cena has had a few good promos. But, do they live up against The Rock's promos? Stone Cold's promos? CM Punk's promos? And we certainly can't forget Roddy Piper.

No one is questioning him or calling him a bad person or because he hasn't done anything for WWE because he has.

And may I ask, what does t...

No they havent sucked but wwe had to water down cena. He's more of a ambassador than a wrestler now. That's just how it goes.

Because when discussions of who's great on the mic arise, there is almost never any mention of faces. For instance, in this topic, Antonio Cesaro came up, as well as Ziggler and Wade Barrett. I'm not saying that there hasn't been faces that were good on the mic, but I would say that majority of them...

No almost every time punk speaks its a great promo. Like a couple weeks ago when they had to go to commercial that was a great promo. And obviously the Las Vegas one was his best. But he's had many great ones not just one.

And I agree that cena has been there for 10 years and counting. Like cole said the rock was there for only a few years and same for Steve Austin so people do have to give cena his respect. Plus he's a good dude no doubt about that.

Difference is, Austin retired due to injury, was not his fault, that can happen to anyone. I think that if he never got injured, he would be retiring at about mid last year completely from the ring.

I think everybody has an off day and that night it was Cena's. I also agree with majority that mention Heels usually give better promos because of the area of freedom of speech on the mic. IMO I remember Cena having had decent rap insults back then when he was a heel and I could imagine this Cena(If...

Part of the reason that many people (including me) hate Cena is that he HAS been around for ten years. We still cheer for the rock, and Austin and edge and undertaker because we haven't been force fed them for ten years, week in and week out.

You cannot be missed if you never go away.

@Keith You do have a good point though. It is understandable to hate someone that is stale. Its just for WWE to know that and do something about it, but I think they are scared/afraid to do it because Cena's in (too deep?) with the company in a really good way.

IMO the ONLY time WWE will do somethin...

No Chris, another good example of a CM Punk promo is the one on the night of the Rock's return. Better than his shoot, IMO

Honestly, I think it's kind of selfish of Cena to be on top this long. When he ripped on the rock leaving to make movies I remember thinking "you would never have become anything if he stayed around. The rock leaving opened that spot for him and edge and others to step up into the spotlight." He has...

Well either way its Cena's fault, WWE's or some of the Talents themselves. Its like what I read Sheamus said in an interview, If guys in the back are complaining that The Rock is back to steal some of their spotlight, they must stop complaining and do something about. Do whatever it takes to get not...

WWE is probably sweating once John's career comes to an end and lets be honest here, Cena can't do this forever, there is going to be a time where his body will say no more.

They can't rely on Orton, Sheamus isn't as over to be the next big star and more or less probably never will be, Ryback is a wo...
