Welcome to Ringside News’ live coverage of SmackDown Live for December 4th, 2018. This is a live result so please keep refreshing and we’ll keep you up to date on what’s going on.
SmackDown is live from Austin, Texas this week and much of, if not all of the WWE Superstars have spent the day with the US Military at Fort Hood filming the Tribute To The Troops special. There are still a number of matches and segments planned as WWE rolls on toward TLC on December 16th.
Jeff Hardy and Randy Orton are announced to face each other yet again, but you never know what WWE could do. There is also a contract signing planned between Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, and Asuka for their upcoming TLC match at TLC. Again, you never know what can happen in those either but it’s likely to be intense because of The Man.
Xavier Woods is scheduled to take on a member of the Usos and Daniel Bryan will be a very special Championship guest on Miz TV. The Undertaker is also backstage and that could be a very interesting addition to a Tuesday night.
Let’s get right to it as SmackDown Live kicks off December 2018 with hopefully much better show than RAW did last night.
Contract Signing
Paige was already in the ring and hyped TLC before introducing Asuka, Becky, and Charlotte.
Becky took the mic first and said that she makes history every time in the ring. She is willing to do anything it takes to win and then she called Flair and Asuka dopes. Flair said she picked up the ball that Becky dropped at Survivor Series and destroyed Rousey with one kendo stick. It only took Nia Jax one punch to destroy Lynch’s face.
Flair and Lynch kept arguing until Asuka spoke up. She said that Lynch picked wrong and Asuka would have beaten Ronda Rousey at Survivor Series. Then Flair brought up how she beat Asuka at WrestleMania.
Lynch said neither of them could beat Rousey and they can’t beat her. She signed her contract and left Flair and Asuka in the ring alone. Flair said she was going to finish Asuka at TLC and then they signed the contract and Asuka asked if she could break her right now.
Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville walked out next and Rose asked Paige if this is how she wants to make history with those two undeserving women instead of the two women she personally groomed for stardom. Deville said she should have won the battle royal last week as well.
Rose said if they want to see fire and desire, then Paige is looking right at it. Then Mandy asked what happens if Asuka and Flair don’t make it to TLC. So Paige booked a tag team match to start next.
Backstage Segment
Shane McMahon was backstage next to the WWE World Cup trophy and The Miz came in to complain about having Daniel Bryan as his guest on Miz TV. The Miz said he and Shane are partners and McMahon said they’re not.
Shane said Miz needs to get answers out of the New Daniel Bryan. The Miz said he owes him, and Shane said he didn’t.
Asuka & Charlotte Flair vs Mandy Rose & Sonya Deville
Flair and Asuka seemed to be trying to outdo each other as they really schooled. Flair tossed both of them out and hit a crossbody to the floor. As Charlotte looked up at Asuka, Becky Lynch made her way back down the ramp.
Deville and Rose ended up getting the advantage and then Asuka fired up and fought back. Flair took the hot tag and then she started rallying on the heels.
Then there was a miscommunication between Flair and Asuka where Flair accidentally hit a big boot on Asuka which sent her off the apron. Then Sonya Deville rolled up Flair and they got the win.
So Mandy and Sonya beat Charlotte and Asuka.
Winners: Sonya Deville & Mandy Rose

Jey Uso vs Cesaro vs Xavier Woods
This match had all the ingredients to be a great one. Kofi and Big E got their own commentary table where they got to throw pancakes into the crowd.
Woods and Uso traded some moves and then they turned on Cesaro to clothesline him over the top rope.
Every time they went to Kofi and Big E on commentary it makes me wish they wouldn’t go back to the usual desk. Woods hit a tornado DDT on Jey from the apron before Woods and Cesaro went in the ring. Woods got a near fall on Cesaro after a facebuster, and then Cesaro countered the Honor Roll.
Uce got on the top rope and went for a splash, but Cesaro got his knees up and got a near fall. Jey Uso and Xavier Woods got to their feet first and they started slugging it out. Jey landed a kick to the face and Woods answered with a forearm of his own.
Then Cesaro did an airplane swing on Uce while he had Woods up on the fireman’s carry before locking in the sharpshooter on Woods.
Cesaro sent Woods to the outside and Uce hit a superkick to take the win.
Winner: Jey Uso
Rusev and Lana were backstage with Kayla Braxton who showed Rusev the footage from last week of Shinsuke Nakamura’s assault on him. Rusev said Nakamura is terrified of him. Then he started to run down how much stronger he is than Nakamura. Rusev said he’s hungry for his US Title and he wants it back. He said Nakamura treats the title like a toy but he’s not going to avoid him this time.

Miz TV
The Miz tried to start the segment, but R-Truth and Carmella came out and did a dance break and then they left. “Did you all really start dancing?” The Miz asked the crowd.
Then The Miz introduced The New Daniel Bryan. The WWE Champion just slumped in his chair as The Miz said that Bryan realized that he was right all along because The Old Daniel Bryan finally realized the fans don’t know what’s good.
Daniel insulted the fans and what they want and then he said that he doesn’t care about them. He kept referring to himself to the first and third person and switched. Bryan said he’s been consulting the writings of Alexander Hamilton and he called the fans fickle.
He kept getting “what” chants and they he said they’re just saying something from 20 years ago but they can’t help it. He called the fans and said that big decisions shouldn’t be left to the wishes of the masses. Then The Miz said that he agreed with Hamilton and it sounds like something he’s been saying for years.
Daniel said Miz dances around the issue because he kicked AJ in the groin, but to be fair he kicked one man in the groin one day. But these fans harm the earth every time they do things like eating meat, not recycling, and otherwise. Yes, the New Daniel Bryan is an angry hippie who loves the planet and he’s getting heat because of it.
The Miz wanted to get Daniel to admit that he’s WWE Champion because he listened to what he said and Daniel said “yes, no, yes, no, yes, no” over and over again. Bryan took his Yes Movement side plates off his title and threw them down saying the Yes Movement is dead. Then he raised his title with no side plates on.
AJ Styles walked out and he didn’t look happy. Bryan pushed Miz into Styles and caused a chance for him to leave. The Miz headed AJ off when Styles chased Daniel around the ring and then The Miz came up behind AJ and hit a Skull Crushing Finale as The New Daniel Bryan got away.
Jeff Hardy vs Randy Orton
Hardy jumped Orton right from the bell and they got started early. RKO pulled at Hardy’s ear only to be clotheslined to the outside. Then Hardy hit a clothesline and bounced Orton off the ring post. Randy smashed Hardy against the announce table and then Jeff suplexed Orton on the table in return.
Once the action returned to the ring, they continued with some rest holds and Hardy hit a Whisper In The Wind on Orton before they both got up at the same time to continue the match. Jeff hit the inverted atomic drop for a two count and the Twist Of Fate was blocked by Orton.
Then Jeff landed a headbutt to the midsection, but Randy caught him and nailed a draping DDT. Jeff blocked an RKO, then Orton blocked another Twist Of Fate. Jeff landed a shot and climbed to the top rope, but Orton met him on the top rope and climbed up to join him.
Jeff slid under Orton and hit the Twist Of Fate before climbing to the top rope, but Orton rolled outside the ring. Jeff nailed a baseball slide and cleared off an announce table. Then Jeff slammed Randy on the table before he climbed to the top rope. He was about to jump on Randy, but Samoa Joe showed up on the screen and distracted him.
Suddenly, Orton jumped in the ring, hit the RKO, and got the pinfall.
Winner: Randy Orton
After the match was over, Samoa Joe remained on the screen and gave a PSA about moderation while taking a shot at Jeff Hardy’s history with alcohol.

AJ Styles vs The Miz
Daniel Bryan made his way to the ring before this match started so he could sit on commentary and call the fans fickle.
AJ Styles lit up The Miz early on with a slew of moves that sent Miz outside. AJ didn’t let Miz bait him in and he tripped the A-Lister up and jumped back in to hit a slingshot elbow drop as Corey Graves asked Daniel about the dangers of methane gas.
The New Daniel Bryan said he’s there to watch AJ Styles and then he said that he hopes that his daughter kicks thousands of stupid men in the groin, every one of them who consumes plastic water bottles. Bryan is really into the environment which apparently, makes him a bad guy.
The Miz locked AJ in a chinlock with his knee in Styles’ back. Then AJ fought out of it before Miz hit a neckbreaker for a two count.
The Miz lifted AJ onto the apron and knocked him off after taking a forearm shot.
Later on, Miz reversed out of a Styles Clash and then AJ got out of a Skull Crushing Finale. The Miz nailed a DDT for a two count, and then AJ moved out of the way of a kick and sent Miz to the outside of the ring before landing a forearm smash to the floor.
Daniel Bryan got up and extended a handshake to AJ so The Miz could send AJ into the steel steps and then he threw AJ in the ring and nailed a Skull Crushing Finale. 1-2-kick out!
The Miz tried for a figure 4, but AJ kicked him off. Daniel Bryan tried to hold AJ from the outside, but Styles broke free. Suddenly, he locked Miz in the Calf Crusher and Miz tapped out
Winner: AJ Styles
After the match, The New Daniel Bryan jumped Styles and wrapped his legs around the leg posts before sending his head into the ring post and then he bounced Styles’ head off the announce table before rolling him back in the ring.
The referee tried to get Bryan to stop, but Daniel hit a chop block before locking in a heel hook on AJ Styles. More officials ran down and finally got Daniel Bryan to release the hold. Daniel took his jacket off and kicked AJ in the back of the head before proceeding to stomp his head in. Then he ran around a little bit and did it again.
Daniel Bryan made Greg Hamilton announce him again as WWE Champion. Bryan picked up the microphone and called the fans fickle once again over and over and over and over again. Then he jumped back in the ring and attacked AJ Styles once again as the show went off the air.
