Welcome to Ringside News’ coverage of Monday Night Raw!
Last night’s Survivor Series was quite the show; a mixed bag as it were. Raw’s “clean sweep” of SmackDown Live was surprising to say the least. According to WWE.com there will be celebrations on tonight’s episode of Raw, with Baron Corbin potentially getting the full-time GM role. That said, it’s hard to imagine the likes of Braun Strowman and Drew McIntyre will just get along after last night. And something tells me Corbin should be on high alert. Braun Strowman is next in line for a title shot against Brock Lesnar, but that match probably won’t occur until the Royal Rumble. That means at TLC, we’re likely to see Strowman Vs. Corbin.
Charlotte Flair laid a serious beating on Ronda Rousey last night. She beat the WWE Women’s Champion to a pulp with a Kendo stick and a chair, and got plenty of cheers in the process. It will be interesting to see if WWE edits the audio to make it sound like Charlotte was booed. Regardless, Ronda’s next opponent is the loathed Nia Jax, which will take place at TLC, and therefore kick-start tonight.
Elsewhere, Seth Rollins will defend his Intercontinental Championship against Dean Ambrose at TLC next month. So far, Seth hasn’t gotten a chance to get his hands on Ambrose, but that may change tonight.
That’s the preview for tonight’s Raw. Let us know what your thoughts are by downloading the Ringside Talk app, the Ringside News app, and following us on Instagram! Enjoy the show!

Monday Night Raw

Monday Night Raw opens with the Acting General Manager Baron Corbin in the ring. Corbin welcomes us to the show, “the definitive A show”. He then introduces Stephanie McMahon to the arena.

Stephanie makes her way to the ring and says she’s proud of Raw beating SmackDown in a clean sweep last night. Of course, we know that isn’t true. She says it’s great that she beat her brother, and tonight will be a night of celebrations. Corbin says the celebrations can begin but first, they have a little formality to get to. Stephanie seems confused, so he says she promised his job would become permanent. She agrees she made some promises. Just then, they’re interrupted.
Braun Strowman comes to the ring and he doesn’t look happy. Strowman says last night, he did as Stephanie asked and didn’t attack Corbin, before he destroyed Team SmackDown Live. Now he wants a match with “this slimeball”. Stephanie reminds Corbin she did promise Strowman that match. So she says that Braun can face Corbin at TLC and, if Corbin wins, he will be the permanent General Manager. If he loses though, he has no power whatsoever, and Strowman will get a shot at Brock Lesnar at Royal Rumble. Strowman agrees and says he gets to choose the stipulation, and he wants the TLC match itself. He tells Corbin he’s going to get these hands, tables, ladders, and chairs! Corbin says the stipulation suits him because Strowman can’t climb ladders and such, but Braun says he will mangle Corbin with steel.
Corbin says that’s all well and good, if he can make it to TLC. Because tonight he’s still Acting General Manager, so he wants to put Strowman in a match with Drew McIntyre and Bobby Lashley. Stephanie says she likes that idea, but seeing as this is a celebration, she wants to up the ante to a six-man tag match, and that match starts right now!

*Commercial Break*
We return to see Elias sitting on a stool on the stage. He reminds us that WWE stands for “Walk With Elias” and the L.A fans love him. Flowing on from last night, this match will be under elimination rules.

Strowman’s face has blood on it. Strowman says he can’t feel his fingers to the officials.

No Contest

That was a strange match, kinda pointless having a really long match end like that but at least it protected McIntyre. Also, they seem intent on protecting Bobby Lashley for what it’s worth.
Replays are shown of Dean Ambrose burning his Shield vest last week on RAW. Seth Rollins will be out to address his upcoming match next.
*Commercial Break*

WWE Intercontinental Champion Seth Rollins makes his way to the ring. Rollins says it’s been a great weekend with TakeOver and Survivor Series. It was also six years since The Shield debuted. Rollins says after he defeated Shinsuke Nakamura last night, he reflected on the last six years. It’s made the situation with Dean Ambrose even more sickening. It’s only been four weeks since Ambrose turned on him and Roman. He says that in that time, Ambrose hasn’t had the guts to explain why or get in the ring with him. In four weeks, Ambrose won’t have a choice at WWE TLC when he has a match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship. Rollins watched Ambrose light his Shield vest on fire and say The Shield was a burden. Dean said he was the same guy he’s always been. Rollins says he learned more from the Chronicle episode about Ambrose than he knew as his best friend. Seth says he didn’t know Ambrose was in the hospital with an infection that almost killed him. Ambrose never called him. Ambrose said he loves WWE. That’s the first time he’s ever heard Dean say, “Love.” Rollins didn’t think he was capable of love. Rollins is feeling highly aggressive right now. If Ambrose loves WWE so much, he can prove it. Rollins says he is looking for a fight and the fans cheer.

Dean Ambrose appears on the titantron. Ambrose says he’s not going to run out like a “lunatic” and give Rollins what he wants. People loved The Shield all over the world, but no one knows how they were when the cameras started rolling. They were rotten to the core from the beginning. They’ll have to pay for what they’ve done in different ways. Ambrose says they’re all going to get what they deserve. Look what happened to Roman… he has to answer to the man upstairs. What’s worse is Rollins has to answer to Ambrose. Dean tells Rollins to find him backstage, and he’ll tell him what happens next.
So Rollins gets out of the ring and power-walks backstage. Rollins looks for Ambrose and shouts at him. Rollins questions security guards as to Ambrose’s whereabouts. The security guard tells Rollins to get out of his face. Rollins punches him and another guard down. Rollins continues to look for Dean. It’s always funny hearing Renee Young try to say she doesn’t know what Ambrose is doing or thinking.
We’ll hear from Ronda Rousey about the attack from Charlotte Flair last night at Survivor Series. We’ll also see Natalya take on Ruby Riott.
Sasha Banks and Bayley make their entrance. They’ll be in action, next.

Winners: Tamina & Nia Jax

We head backstage, where Charly Caruso is going to interview Baron Corbin, but Dean Ambrose appears on the monitor behind her. Ambrose tells her to find Seth Rollins and tell him that he’s waiting for him. He’s in the place The Shield used to call home. This is kinda dumb.
*Commercial Break*
Seth Rollins is still walking around backstage, looking for Ambrose, when he arrives at the boiler room – I wonder if Mick Foley’s down there? Rollins enters and goes inside. Ambrose is not there, but spray painted on the door is the phrase, “Burn it down.” Rollins angrily punches the door.

Still photos are shown of Drake Maverick being so terrified of Big Show at Survivor Series that he urinated in his pants. We see Drake Maverick on the buffet line when someone asked if he tried the peas. Heath Slater and Rhyno make fun of him for the accident. Chad Gable tells Maverick to not get pissed. Bobby Roode joins in, and they have a good laugh at Maverick’s expense.
The Lucha House Party will be in action next.
*Commercial Break*
Apparently this match will be under “lucha house rules”, which means any member of their team can participate at any time. That seems ridiculously unfair.

Lucha House Party vs. The Revival

Scott Dawson starts against Kalisto. Kalisto takes him down. Dash Wilder tags in, and Kalisto kicks him in the face. Kalisto, Lince Dorado, and Gran Metalik all take shots at Wilder. Kalisto rolls Wilder up for a two count. Wilder quickly takes Kalisto down and tags in Dawson.

Metalik distracts Wilder, so Dorado kicks Wilder down. Dorado hits a Shooting Star Press for the win.

Winners: Lucha House Party

Well, it’s clear that last night did not signify the start of a push for The Revival. The Lucha House Rules is absurd.
We see a video package of Charlotte’s vicious assault with a Kendo stick on Ronda Rousey last night at Survivor Series. We’ll hear from Rousey next
*Commercial Break*

Charly Caruso is backstage with Seth Rollins again. She asks for an update and Rollins says Ambrose took it too far by bringing up Roman Reigns’ situation. When he gets his hands on Ambrose, he will make him wonder why he ever turned. Titus O’Neil comes out and says he just saw Dean Ambrose run thataway. Rollins runs off.

Ronda Rousey makes her way to the ring and she’s smiling wide, despite what happened last night. The crowd chants, “Becky,” and Rousey looks disappointed. Rousey is covered in bruises. Rousey mentions she’ll defend her title at WWE TLC against Nia Jax. She’s aware of how dangerous Jax is. Just look what she did to Becky’s face. At TLC, she’ll tap out Nia Jax. When she’s done with Jax, the next chapter of Rousey versus Charlotte Flair will be written. They’ll finish what they started last night.
Rousey isn’t here to pose and look for sympathy. She wants to show them what a true champion is. A true champion doesn’t choose when to fight. A true champion stands on guard in sickness and health. You have to be the best in the world on your worst day. Another “Becky” chant fires up. Rousey takes off her jacket and says this is her on her worst day. They zoom in on Rousey’s welts. Rousey wants to defend the title tonight. If she can’t, she doesn’t deserve to be champion.
Baron Corbin’s music hits, and he comes out to boos from the crowd. Corbin denies her request for a title match. As Acting General Manager, he cannot allow her to compete tonight in good conscience. Rousey says she’s had 17 fights in her career and never pulled out or postponed any of them. She’s had plenty of reasons to do so, but she never did because that’s what it takes to be the baddest bitch on the planet. Rousey orders him to go back there and find a challenger for her title… or maybe Corbin wants a shot at the champ. A “YES” chant picks up. Corbin wishes Rousey luck. Corbin says he’ll go back there and find a challenger. He says whomever he chooses will be the next RAW Women’s Champion.

I have no idea what WWE is doing with the tag division right now, I’m not convinced they do either.
We go backstage to see Dean Ambrose sitting by himself. Ambrose says he’s not playing games with Seth Rollins, though he has enjoyed watching him run around like a lunatic. Rollins is so whiny. *Commercial Break*
We’re back from the break and Dean Ambrose makes his way to the ring – booed loudly all the way there. Ambrose says it was too easy. Every person in the crowd would have done the exact same thing he did. They’d stab their own family in the back for anything. At least his reasons were justified. Ambrose has been around people like this his whole life. Ambrose doesn’t feel sorry for himself. Dean says the way they cheer for Rollins makes him sick. Ambrose can’t stand the smell of them.
We go backstage to see Seth Rollins running around. Ambrose laughs while Rollins runs around backstage on the titantron. Rollins charges down to the ring, and tackles Ambrose!
