WWE fans weren’t really expecting to see Daniel Bryan defeat AJ Styles for the WWE Championship on this week’s episode of the show — but it happened. Now we have a new WWE Champion mere days before Survivor Series and the former champion is not happy that he will not be able to face Brock Lesnar at the big show in Los Angeles.
Daniel Bryan didn’t really win the title on the up-and-up either. In fact, he won it like a heel with a low-blow while the referee was down and then he topped it off with a post-match beatdown. Now Daniel Bryan is a bad guy and AJ Styles is a former WWE Champion once again.
“The thing about being a real Champion, a reigning, DEFENDING champion is that any day someone can beat you. But holding the title is more than just wins and losses, it’s about who you are as a man. Daniel showed us that last night. And the receipt is coming,” AJ styles tweeted out on the afternoon following his title loss.
It certainly looks like Daniel Bryan might have a program lines up with AJ Styles once Survivor Series is all said and done.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
