UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov has confirmed on social media that the WWE has contacted him, supposedly to make an appearance inside of the squared circle.
The Eagle is coming off the back of the biggest win of his career over Conor McGregor at UFC 229 who, ironically enough, has also been heavily linked with a move to professional wrestling in the past. Alas, the importance of the fight itself pales in comparison to the brawl afterwards which many fans actually compared to WWE.
While Khabib could easily be joking around about these claims, it certainly seems like the kind of thing WWE would try and capitalise on.

It seems as if Khabib would have one very specific target if he did make the transition over, as you can see by the ‘Smash Lesnar’ hashtag. Still, as great as it would be to see him make a one off appearance, it’s not like going from MMA to pro wrestling is a ridiculous idea.
Shayna Baszler, Matt Riddle and Ronda Rousey are three of the many successful examples currently residing in WWE, and Khabib himself has even threatened to leave the Ultimate Fighting Championship courtesy of an issue stemming from the aforementioned brawl.
We can’t really imagine Nurmagomedov making the jump over until his days competing inside of the Octagon are officially done and dusted, but let’s face it, we’d all love to see it go down given just how much of a megastar he’s become in the last few weeks or so.
