The Rock made SmackDown the television show it eventually became, after all it was named after his catchphrase. But since Hollywood took him away from WWE it’s a very rare sight to see The Great One.
Joe Peisich said on Barnburner’s No Holds Barred podcast that The Rock “will be back” for SmackDown 1000, but in a very interesting development, he might also set up for something much bigger not too far down the road.

“The Rock also may do something that will lead to possibly a match maybe at Survivor Series, Royal Rumble, maybe WrestleMania at the 1000th episode of SmackDown there.”

It looks like The Rock’s movie schedule and other obligations along with WWE’s calendar might dictate more in this situation more than simply showing up and working a match. So only time will tell what happens next, but we might get another match out of The Rock before he runs for President.
