New Japan Pro Wrestling held the Fighting Spirit Unleashed event on September 30th and there weren’t enough fans to fill up every seat in Long Beach’s Walter Pyramid. But apparently, there were a couple unexpected names hanging around in the back.
Mauro Ranallo, Kairi Sane, and Io Sharia were in Long Beach for the New Japan Pro Wrestling show this weekend. This is not the kind of place you would normally expect to see WWE employees, especially top starts in NXT like Kairi and Io. Mauro Ranallo obviously still has some connection with WWE as well.
Dave Meltzer was asked during Wrestling Observer Radio if there is any internal heat on those 3 for bravely going to an NJPW event, after all, Kairi Sane did take a picture with Juice Robinson and Tanahashi which you can see below.

“I have heard of no heat for that then again […] knowing WWE, nothing would surprise me.”

So at this point, it seems like they’re okay for going to the NJPW show and seeing some old friends. But it might be a pretty good idea to try their best from now on to watch who they’re seen with and where they venture because they’re technically representing WWE where ever they go.
