Last year’s Mae Young Classic was a big event and tons of people were watching as WWE’s first all-women’s tournament special went down. Now it looks like the second installment is going to be plenty action-packed as well.

There’s also another batch of huge names from overseas included this year including Io Sharai. One listener asked Dave Meltzer during Wrestling Observer Radio why Io got to keep her name while Kairi Sane had to change her’s up for last year’s Mae Young Classic.

“They have a different mentality this year than last year when it comes to that. Last year it was ‘everyone must have a name that we own’ and this year — they still [make some]”

WWE is going to do whatever they want to do and it was noted that they can always change Io’s name later on.
