Titus O’Neil finally came out and released his statements on Hulk Hogan’s WWE reinstatement. It was said on Wrestling Observer Radio that there were those who were supportive of Hogan backstage and it might have even been the majority.

But with WWE Network cameras there (even though WWE has said there weren’t) filming the whole thing, some people saw it as a work. Dave Meltzer said the boys know the difference between shoot and a work and when something is being recorded by a camera crew they know it’s to get themselves over. He mentioned the Make-A-Wish kids and all that as well even though he said John Cena did a ton of hose before he was being filmed and actually got upset when it got out that he was doing them because he didn’t want that kind of attention.

It was asked if Titus could get fired for the statements he made and Meltzer.

“They could take him off TV. He’s a marginal character. They could take him off TV tomorrow and no one will miss him. And just say creative has nothing for you.”

“I can not imagine them firing him now. From a company standpoint, that would be stupid.”

It was noted that with WWE’s current financial position and their desire to just keep ahold of talent, “it takes a lot to get fired right now.” They can always squash Titus but they were doing that anyway and he did take the pinfall this week on Raw.
