As announced during this week’s SmackDown Live, General Manager Paige will be making an announcement regarding WWE Champion AJ Styles’ opponent at SummerSlam on next week’s episode.

AJ Styles defeated Rusev at Sunday’s Extreme Rules pay-per-view. Therefore, there aren’t many Superstars left to challenge for the title.

According to several rumours and reports, Samoa Joe might be next in line for a shot at the WWE Championship. However, it’s just a speculation right now and will only be confirmed at next week’s SmackDown.
