As previously reported, WWE made a last minute change this week and switched Ronda Rousey’s singles match against Mickie James to a six-man tag match that saw her team with Ember Moon & Natalya to take on Mickie James, Ruby Riott, and Liv Morgan instead.

There has been speculation floating around online this that the reason WWE switched Ronda from working a singles match to tag matches is because the company doesn’t want to put pressure on her right now, which is sort of true but not exactly accurate.

The belief within WWE is that she is still fairly new in the game, despite training for two years prior to her WrestleMania debut. Ronda is still testing the waters and WWE is doing the best they can to protect her by pairing her with other experienced talents before they have her start working full matches on her own. The hope is Ronda will be ready to work full matches on her own by the time she challenges Nia Jax for the RAW Women’s Championship title at next month’s Money in the Bank event.
