Vito agrees and says The Wyatt Family should have never broken apart for example. Wyatt is a special talent that would have been a massive star if he came around 10-20 years earlier. Vito says the business will almost be extinct in 10 years if the current trend continues, and it’s mainstream presence will have significantly decreased.
Russo says that this is a business and these guys are going to be 35 years old and aren’t going to be able to get out of bed. He points out that even someone like Mick Foley, whose love and passion for the business can never be questioned, would probably tell you that he should have toned it down a bit during his illustrious career.
Russo adds that when WWE is cutting out pyro to save money, there’s obviously a problem. House show attendance continues to drop and they’re cutting costs at every turn. Something needs to change or the business may reach a breaking point sooner or later.
That sums up today’s episode of Vince Russo’s The Brand. You can listen to the show yourself anytime here, and I’ll catch ya tomorrow for another recap.
