Vince Russo’s The Brand Recap – Raw Analysis, Getting it Right with Strowman, Sasha Banks in the Doghouse? More!
Russo is joined on today’s show by his co-host Jeff Lane.
Lane says that RAW rarely follows up with their storylines from the week before, so he liked that Braun Strowman started this week’s show. Russo liked that as well, but he thought the dialogue between Strowman and Kurt Angle was very weak.
Russo gives WWE credit for trying to get Strowman over the right way now, after having him tuck his tail and back down from Brock Lesnar a few weeks ago. However, he didn’t like that the main event match between Strowman and Big Show went as long as it did. Big Show was in the prime of his career 20 years ago and in Russo’s opinion, Strowman should have won this match quicker.
In Russo’s opinion, there wasn’t enough ‘movement’ on this show. He says that wrestling fans have seen all of this before and there was nothing new or fresh on this show.
He liked the ring exploding at the end of the Strowman/Big Show match beceause it was a cool visual, but he saw it coming from a mile away just based on the way WWE was shooting the entire match. Either way it’s something that they don’t do very often and it got a big pop from the crowd. Overall, Russo thought that was well done.
