Conversation With The Big Guy Recap – Wrestlemania Season, Best & Worst Paydays in WWE, Working w/ Mark Henry, More!
He says that the worst payday he ever received while working in WWE was at Wrestlemania in either 2014 or 2015 when he worked a Pre-show match. For this reason, he assumed his Pre-show match against Kalisto at Wrestlemania 32 would result in a very low payday as well, especially since he was leaving the company after that match. Surprisingly, his payout for that match was actually the second largest payout he ever received while working for WWE. He enjoyed working with Kalisto in that match.
Ryback recalls working with Mark Henry at Wrestlemania 29. Henry is a very large man and does not like to be picked up so they didn’t rehearse the finish of the match which required Ryback lifting Henry up in the ‘Shellshock position’. This was very stressful for Ryback leading into the match but he trusted Henry.
As they went to go into the finish of the match, Henry did not jump correctly which prevented Ryback from lifting him all the way up. He was worried that Henry would not be able to shift his weight enough to make the lift happen. Luckily on the second attempt, Ryback hooked Henry and lifted him easily.
Ryback wonders whether Seth Rollins’ recent knee injury was a work. He hopes it’s a work for Rollins’ sake, because repetitive knee injuries are never a good thing. With injuries like this you never really know when you’re going to be ready again, so saying that Rollins will be ready close to ‘Mania is a stupid thing to say.
