Vince Russo’s The Brand Recap – TNA Leadership Change, Relationship with Jeff Jarrett, Gaburick’s Release, More!

Russo is joined on today’s show by Andre Corbeli.

Russo says that the recent leadership change in TNA is another example of why the wrestling business is dying today. Wrestling is stuck in its own little bubble, and the business continues to cycle through the same old people and ideas that have resulted in a drop in viewership and a niche audience.

Corbeli says that he has been covering TNA for a lot of years and he’s very accustomed to reporting negative news, but he considers this change in ownership to be a step in the right direction for TNA. The one thing that he feels TNA needs to change right now is their filming location. He thinks they need to get out of Orlando as soon as possible because the live audience during television tapings are a big downer.

Russo informs that he has known Jarrett for over 20 years and he thought they were friends, but that supposed friendship quickly came to an end as soon as Russo was no longer useful to Jarrett. Russo says that in the wrestling business, people only pretend to be your friend as long as you can help them and that’s a sad truth.

Russo says he did more for Jarrett professionally than anyone else in the wrestling business, and that doesn’t include some of the things he did for Jarrett personally. When Russo began working in TNA later in his career, his relationship with Jarrett quickly deteriorated. Years later, he learned that Jarrett had been told that Russo was talking about him behind his back and that wasn’t true at all.
