5 Great WWE Matches You Can Watch on Youtube
Sure, WWE likes to promote their own network (and it’s only $9.99! What are you waiting for? Sign up and get your free month now!), but they do post a lot of content on Youtube. Every now and then, WWE posts a full match to their channel. Here are some of the better ones you can stream right now.
5. The Shield vs The Wyatt Family (Elimination Chamber 2014)
When you pit two unstoppable stables against each other, you are bound to get a war. That’s exactly what happened at Elimination Chamber 2014 when the Shield clashed with the Wyatt Family. The crowd was seriously hyped for the match and were chanting “This is awesome” before the match even started.
Normally this would sound inorganic, but here it was completely natural. The match was an exciting one, with lots of action to keep fans on the edge of their seats. A really cool spot involved Erick Rowan and Luke Harper executing a double chokeslam on Seth Rollins through the announce table. Bray Wyatt would also fight Dean Ambrose in the crowd. Eventually though, the Wyatts stood tall, with Reigns eating the pin after a Sister Abigail.
4. Edge vs Kane vs Big Show vs Rey Mysterio vs Drew McIntyre vs Wade Barrett (Elimination Chamber 2011)
After Alberto Del Rio won the Royal Rumble, Edge would have to defend his World Heavyweight Championship inside the Elimination Chamber against five other men. The match was an exciting and violent one.
Even Big Show and Kane had a great showing. Even young bloods Barrett and McIntyre put up a good fight and showed just why many expected great things from them. Memorable spots include McIntyre decimating everyone on arrival and sending both Mysterio and Barrett into pods.
When all was said and done, it was Edge who stood tall at the end of the grueling fight, cementing his spot at Wrestlemania against Del Rio. This was one of the better Chamber matches in recent years, and everyone looked good in it.
3. Shelton Benjamin vs Shawn Michaels (Raw 2005)
In 2005, there was a tournament to crown the number one contender to Batista’s World Heavyweight Championship. In the first round, Shawn Michaels was pit against Shelton Benjamin. It was truly an exciting match between two highly athletic men.
While Benjamin was great, Michaels made Benjamin look godlike. Benjamin looked like a real threat, having almost put away Michaels several times. Michaels himself was having a hard time keeping The Gold Standard down for the count.
In the end, Benjamin ate a Sweet Chin Music and lost the match. In one of the most memorable endings to a match, Benjamin hopped onto the ropes and attempted a springboard attack, but Michaels countered and hit him with the superkick. The audience and the commentary team were stunned, and while the spot has been recreated a few more times, this match still holds a place in many people’s hearts.
