The Ross Report Recap w/ Drew Galloway – Health Issues, Working for TNA/WWE, McGregor/Rousey in WWE, More!
Ross begins today’s show speaking about NJPW’s WrestleKingdom 11 which aired last week. He says he has only briefly previewed the show because he’s doing voiceover work for AXS TV, who will broadcast the show in 4 pieces starting this Friday. He wants to be able to react to the matches live as he’s watching them, without any predisposed opinions on the matches.
He admits that he has heard the rumblings surrounding the main event match between Okada and Kenny Omega. Dave Meltzer gave it a 6-star rating, and some have said it’s the best televised wrestling match of all time. Ross says that’s pretty high praise, and he’s very excited to do voice over work for that match.
Ross comments on the speculation that Kenny Omega will be leaving NJPW for good, and potentially joining WWE. Ross thinks Omega is just taking a break right now, and will return to NJPW to capture the IWGP Heavyweight Championship this Summer. He predicts Omega will be the Champion before NJPW tours California in July.
Ross says this year’s Royal Rumble bout is shaping up to be a hell of a match. He thinks every time we see The Undertaker on WWE programming it’s a blessing because it’s obvious that he has a limited amount of matches left in him. Undertaker’s announcement that he will be entering the Royal Rumble match was a significant one, and Ross is intrigued by the potential outcomes in that match.
